I love messenger
Messenger helps you stay connected with people all over the world for free. Yet one of my favorite things about messenger is the parts in the settings. The settings have information that can tell you when you logged in and from what device. The settings also allow you to get notifications directly to messenger that allow you to get updated on that information so you never fall short. My only thing is Facebook takes 30 days for the account to delete. This may not be a huge delay for most, but to me it’s too long. Also I believe it would be even cooler if it had an unsend button. We’ve all said things we wish we could take back before we said it, that’s why I think an unsend button would increase the amount of FB users. My favorite update, the colorful messages. It makes it more fun rather than just normal colors.
App Continues to Not Open Due to “[Having] Any Privacy Restrictions” a Few Updates Ago
As happened with the latest Facebook update now, even though I still receive texts from it (for now), am asked to continually update everytime, and have used the app on my devices for years, I’m now told in the App Store that I have to “turn off privacy restrictions” in order to open either app. Messenger disappeared a while ago and now, even the icons for both have disappeared on both of my non-laptop or computer but widely used types of smart devices.
My privacy restrictions are universal for all apps as well as long-standing. Also, while when I click the text message update links and am diverted to the less user-friendly device version on the internet, it continues to ask me to open my Messenger app when I try to see my messages. I used to be a very frequent user of both apps randomly throughout the day, and the site in general for even more years, but it’s been getting a bit cumbersome. It also feels a bit strange that one would have to turn off their privacy restrictions in order to access a certain app, in general.
New update looks really bad
Most of the people I’ve seen have just been complaining so I’m going to try and make this review at least a little helpful. This new update has so much wasted space. Just yesterday the formatting was pretty much perfect from a design standpoint, but now there is so much unused white space at the top of the screen. Even just the word “Chats” takes up so much unnecessary space which previously encompassed everything that wasn’t actual chats (like stories and your profile info. The previous design was perfectly fine and there was no need to change it, and changing your design completely won’t make a significant number of people suddenly decide to download the app. If nothing else, give everyone the option to go back to the previous version.
As a lover of web design, I know white space can be useful, but it can be extremely harmful if there is too much unused space, and that is exactly what happened. You messed up with this one, but there’s still an opportunity to fix it, or at least canter to those who know this is bad design.
